Video: Leafs' Wayne Simmonds Gets Revenge On Senators' Scott Sabourin
It was a chippy affair on Saturday night in Toronto as the Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators renewed acquaintances. After Senators forward Scott Sabourin pummeled Leafs defenseman Justin Holl earlier in the game, Leafs forward Wayne Simmonds decided he was going to do something about it.
This is one of the main reasons, if not the main reason why Simmonds was re-signed in the offseason on a multi-year deal. Toronto needs him as a security blanket out there and during the last preseason game for the club, Simmonds put in a shift.
The Maple Leafs and Senators play on Thursday night in Ottawa's home opener, look for Simmonds and Sabourin to find each other for round 2:
