Video: Maple Leafs Forward Injured, Will Miss Significant Time
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be starting the season with forward Ilya Mikheyev on the injury list as he went down with a hand/wrist injury during the team's last preseason game Saturday against the Ottawa Senators.

This is absolutely horrible timing and luck for the Russian forward who asked for a trade at the end of last season. He was not happy about his ice time and instead of trading him, the Maple Leafs promoted him to the second line and told him to show them what he could do playing regularly with John Tavares and William Nylander. Then this happens....just brutal.
Last season Mikheyev recorded 17 points in 54 games and is one of the hardest working forwards on the team who was likely going to see some time on the penalty kill and some spot duty on the second power play.
