Video: Maple Leafs' Ondrej Kase Scores First Goal Since 2019-20 Season
Before Friday night's contest against the San Jose Sharks, the last time Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ondrej Kase score a goal was when he was a member of the Anaheim Ducks during the 2019-20 season. However, he now has changed that, as he scored a very nice goal on a breakaway. He also collided with referee Wes McCauley after scoring the beauty.
After being traded by the Ducks to the Boston Bruins during the 2019-20 season, Kase dealt with numerous injuries. This is evidenced by the fact that he played just nine regular season games with the B's in total. In them, he recorded an assist.
In five games with the Leafs thus far, he has just the goal, but perhaps this will help spark a much-needed bounce back campaign. As a member of the Ducks, he did have some pretty solid seasons, too. During the 2017-18 season, he scored 20 goals and had 38 points in 66 games He then followed that up with 11 goals and 20 points in 30 games the season after.
Nonetheless, congrats to Ondrej for getting back on the board! He's been through a lot these last few seasons, so he certainly deserves some praise.
