Video: Red Wings' Lucas Raymond Scores Hat Trick Against Blackhawks
It's safe to say that Lucas Raymond isn't disappointing any fans of the Detroit Red Wings. In Sunday night's matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks, he recorded a hat trick. This is a great accomplishment for the 19-year-old, especially when remembering that this was only his sixth career NHL game.
Raymond is viewed as having a plethora of potential and has the tools to be a very good NHLer for many years. The Red Wings drafted him with the 4th overall pick in the 2020, so he is viewed as a huge part of their future. In his six games with the team thus far, he has four goals and seven points.
It's also important to note that Raymond did this against the 2020-21 Vezina Trophy winner and future Hockey Hall of Famer, Marc-Andre Fleury. Even if the veteran is off to a rough start with the Blackhawks, this is still fantastic to see from the kid.
If Raymond can continue to play this well all season, it would not be surprising to see him win the Calder Trophy.
