We Have The First Goal Of The 2021-22 NHL Season!
Danton Heinen of the Pittsburgh Penguins has scored the first goal of the 2021-22 NHL regular season. He buried a nice feed from Jeff Carter and put it home.
Heinen signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the Penguins this summer. He's expected to provide solid depth scoring in the bottom-six and is already off to a good start with that.Who had Danton Heinen opening up the season on their bingo card? pic.twitter.com/c2Swl49M8H

In 43 games last season with the Anaheim Ducks, Heinen scored seven goals and had 14 points. He's previously had more success offensively in the past, though. His best year came during his rookie season with the Boston Bruins. With them, he scored 16 goals and 47 points. He also has a 34-point season under his belt, so he does have the potential to produce more this season with Pittsburgh.
Nonetheless, Danton has already left a good first impression with his new team!
