Winnipeg Jets: 3 Players With Expiring Contracts

With the off-season almost completed, it feels right to take a preview into next year's. In this segment, we will be looking at three players from each team who have expiring contracts. Both restricted and unrestricted free agents are eligible for discussion.

In this piece, we will be focusing on the Winnipeg Jets. They have some notable forwards with expiring contracts, so it will be interesting to see how they handle them.

Pierre-Luc Dubois C/LW (RFA): After being traded from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Jets, Dubois scored eight goals and recorded 20 points in 41 games. That was not bad production, but in the past, he has shown more, as evidenced by his 61-point campaign during the 2018-19 season. Therefore, the 23-year-old could end up scoring far more this season, which in turn, would allow him to land a nice raise.

Andrew Copp C/LW (UFA): It will be interesting to see how the Jets handle Andrew Copp. The 27-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent next summer and will demand more money to stick around. He also scored 15 goals and recorded 39 points in 55 games last season, so he's capable of being a real scorer in this league. If he ends up hitting the open market, he will have plenty of options.

Paul Stastny C (UFA): The Jets re-signed Paul Stastny this off-season to a one-year deal. It will be intriguing if they decide to the same next off-season. The 35-year-old forward still is productive in this league. In 56 games this past season, he scored 13 goals and had 29 points. It will be intriguing to see what's he capable of doing this go-around.
