2 Colorado Avalanche Most Likely to be Traded

The Colorado Avalanche are going all-in this season which means we could see general manager Joe Sakic be quite active when it comes to roster moves. The team has some holes they are trying to fill and have a couple assets who could be moved to help out.

2 Avalanche Players Most Likely to be Dealt in 2021-22

Samuel Girard: The hottest name on the trade bait list at the moment, Girard is a young mobile defenseman who has game-changing abilities. At 23 years old and signed to a reasonable $5 million for the next five seasons, there's no doubt interest would be league wide. Colorado also has the emergence of Bowen Byram along with Cale Makar and Devon Toews, so the left side of the defense is a bit crowded. If Girard gets moved this season as a few insiders have suggested, expect to see a scoring winger come back in the deal.

Justin Barron: The 2020 first-round pick is already playing in the AHL and the 20-year-old has impressed so far in his time with the organization. The Avs don't have a first or second-round pick at the 2022 draft, so if they are going to upgrade their forward group it's going to come from a position of strength and depth. They have a number of defenseman ahead of Barron so he could fetch a young talented forward in return. So far this season, the Halifax, Nova Scotia native has three points in six games. He was a member of the 2020 Canadian World Junior team last season.
