2 Detroit Red Wings Most Likely Getting Traded

The Detroit Red Wings have surprised this season as the young team is starting to put up points. While they may be close to battling for a playoff spot, the Wings are likely going to be active on the trade market to not only upgrade this year's team but also to continue to stock assets for the future.

2 Red Wings Most Likely to Get Dealt

Sam Gagner: The veteran forward is a pending free-agent and could be flipped closer to the trade deadline. Gagner is now 32 years old and has slowed down a touch. So far this season he's averaging just over 14 minutes of ice-time a night and is always better suited playing in an offensive role than defensive checking line. He's put up seven points in 18 games this season and could provide a contending team with some depth and an option to move up a lineup if injuries occur.

Nick Leddy: The veteran defenseman is also a pending UFA and his 121 games of Stanley Cup playoff experience will catch the eye of some teams looking for experienced depth on their blue line. So far in 18 games in Motown, Leddy has put up six points. The Wings have a number of pending free agent defensemen and Leddy is at the top of the list to get moved. It's his first year in Detroit and he's likely not going to last the full season.
