2 Pittsburgh Penguins Most Likely to be Traded

The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently near the bottom of the standings in the Eastern Conference and if they don't get on track before the Christmas break there's going to be some changes to their roster. This includes a couple of veterans who could be moved out.

2 Penguins Most Likely to be Traded

Jason Zucker: Zucker hasn't lived up to the expectations since arriving in Pittsburgh, however is off to a decent start in 2021-22. So far the versatile winger has recorded six points in 10 games. It's certainly a nice site for management as his bounce-back season could spark some trade interest. Zucker has a modified no-trade clause where he can keep 10 teams away. At $5.5 million this season and next, and with Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang to re-sign, Zucker has become a prime trade candidate in Pittsburgh.

Bryan Rust: Rust is soon going to find out where he stands with Ron Hextall and Brian Burke as the pending unrestricted free-agent is due a contract extension. At $3.5 million this season the 20-goal scorer is going to be due a hefty raise which the Penguins may not be able to afford. It's likely the team rides this one out if they are within the playoff picture, but if the Penguins are out of the mix, expect to see Rust moved out of town.
