3 Potential Landing Spots For Chris Tierney

With the Ottawa Senators currently sporting a 4-11-1 record, it's getting to a point where they are likely to be sellers as we inch closer to the trade deadline. One player who should find himself on the trading block is 27-year-old center, Chris Tierney. He has one year left on his contract and is eligible to become a free agent during the summer.

Tierney is an interesting option for teams looking to add more depth to their forward group. In 16 games this season thus far, he has five goals and an assist. In the past, he also has hit the 40-point plateau twice, so he does have the ability to provide solid scoring when on his game.

These three teams could be interesting fits for him.

New York Rangers: The New York Rangers are on the hunt for a middle-six forward and Tierney could be a player who interests them. Due to the fact that he has one year left on his current contract, he would work well as a rental. Although he doesn't play the same heavy game as Sammy Blais, he could work as a solid replacement when it comes to his offensive production.

Nashville Predators: There were questions following the Predators heading into this season, as they lost multiple key players during the summer. However, at least for now, they are quite competitive and are only two points behind the first place Minnesota Wild in the Central Division. With this, Nashville could look to make an upgrade to the center position and Tierney could be a very good one for the third line.

Philadelphia Flyers: With Kevin Hayes reinjuring himself, he is once again is labeled as being week-to-week. Tierney could be a solid short-term replacement for Hayes in the lineup while he recovers. Furthermore, once he returns, he could be an excellent bottom-six option for the Flyers. Keep in mind, he also can kill penalties if needed.
