3 Potential Trade Destinations for Bruins' Jake DeBrusk
Jake DeBrusk wants out of Boston and the Bruins have agreed that is the best scenario for both sides. A trade is expected in the next 10 days and there's certainly a ton of interest league wide. Let's take a look at three favorites to land the former first-round pick.
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers have been linked to DeBrusk since before his draft year as DeBrusk is born in Edmonton and his father Louis is still very much involved in the hockey community in the area. Being a western conference team, the Oilers have a great shot to land DeBrusk, it's just going to come down to asking price from the Bruins. Kailer Yamamoto would certainly be a name the Bruins will be asking for in any trade with the Oilers.
Calgary Flames
The Flames are one of the biggest surprises this season and there's no doubt general manager Brad Treliving will be looking to add at the trade deadline. Now with DeBrusk, expect to see Calgary get involved however don't expect to see them trade Dillon Dube straight up for DeBrusk. Andrew Mangiapane is another names that's off limits. The Flames offer will more likely include a second-round pick and a prospect, along with an NHL contract to make the money balance. Calgary is strapped for cap space so they will need to be creative to facilitate a deal.
Anaheim Ducks
If there's any team that should be considered 'the' favorite when it comes to interest in DeBrusk, it would be the Ducks. They have a solid young team and have a history trading with the Bruins, two things that could come into play here. The Ducks have the cap space needed to easily strike a deal, and the Bruins could focus on players like Sonny Milano or Sam Steel in return. Maxime Comtois is another name to watch here, injured at the moment but also a player who could benefit from a change of scenery. Look out for the Ducks, they will be active in this trade request.
