3 Prime Forward Candidates to be Traded in 2021-22

The 2021-22 NHL season is almost a quarter of the way done and there's been a bunch of surprising teams making noise so far this year. With the infamous American Thanksgiving timeline approaching, look for some teams to make some trades to fill the gaps on their roster.

Let's examine three forwards who are destined to be traded:

Phil Kessel: Make no mistake about it, Kessel is getting moved by the dismal Arizona Coyotes. The veteran sniper is on the radar of several teams who are expecting to make the playoffs, including the Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers and Tampa Bay Lightning. So far in 19 games, Kessel has recorded nine points. Every insider under the sun has confirmed the Coyotes will be making more trades for draft picks, so Kessel mid as well starting packing his things.

Max Domi: The Columbus Blue Jackets forward is a pending free agent who is finally healthy and ready to get his season on track. Domi is owed $5.3 million this season and so far in the five games he's played, he's recorded four points. It doesn't seem like he's willing to sign an extension at this time in Columbus and will be hitting the open market so the Blue Jackets will want to get back some fair value for their asset, much like they did last season with Nick Foligno.

Cody Eakin: The Buffalo Sabres center is a candidate to get moved as he would provide some contending teams with depth down the middle. So far in 12 games this season for the Sabres, Eakin has scored twice. He's played in 50 Stanley Cup Playoff games which is a part of his resume that will appeal to other teams and the fact he's 55.4% success rate on faceoffs. There will be a fourth line for Eakin come playoff time and it won't be in Buffalo.
