Alex Ovechkin Passes Brett Hull On All-Time Goals List
Alex Ovechkin scored his 742nd career goal last night. With that, he has officially passed Brett Hull and for fourth all-time in NHL history.
Without any surprise, Ovechkin's goal was from another spectacular shot. The 36-year-old winger let off a hard wrister from behind the faceoff circle and beat Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo cleanly.
Ovechkin is off to an MVP-caliber season thus far, as he has 12 goals and 24 points in 14 games. Only Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid are ahead of him in points at this time.
Ovechkin shouldn't be at number four too long, though, as he is just 24 goals away from tying Jaromir Jagr. Therefore, it should be an accomplishment he achieves by season's end.
Nonetheless, congrats to Alex!
