Artemi Panarin Fined $5,000 For Unsportsmanlike Conduct
In Friday afternoon's contest against the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers star forward Artemi Panarin provided fans with one of the funniest moments of the season when he threw his glove at Brad Marchand. NHL Player Safety, however, did not find Panarin's actions humorous, as they have fined him $5,000 for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
The NHL doesn't want opposing players to do these kind of things while off the ice. However, we also have certainly seen players do a lot worse and get smaller fines. In fact, some players have received absolutely nothing for doing worse, too.NY Rangers’ Artemi Panarin has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Unsportsmanlike Conduct during yesterday’s game with the Boston Bruins.

Alas, this will likely go down as one of the weirdest punishments handed out by NHL Player Safety this season. Well, that's the case at least for now. We will have to wait and see what else occurs as the season progresses.
