Buffalo Sabres Alex Tuch Comments on Being Traded for Jack Eichel
One of the reasons why the Buffalo Sabres were happy to receive Alex Tuch in the blockbuster trade with the Vegas Golden Knights was the fact he was over the moon to join the team in Buffalo. Once the Sabres spoke to him it became a no-brainer, and Tuch couldn't believe the fact he was getting dealt for Jack Eichel.
The versatile winger commented on the next phase of his career and how being traded for Eichel is a shot in the arm to his confidence:
He (general manager Kevyn Adams) talked about the opportunity I have here. I talked about how excited I was to come and play for my favorite team growing up. I'd like to be as big of a part of this organization as possible. It was an honor just to be traded for a guy like Jack Eichel. I know it wasn't one for one, but to be a part of that trade and just to have someone that really wants you in their organization means a lot.
Not often you hear a player talk about the Sabres being his childhood favorite, so the news was certainly music to the ears of Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams.
As for Tuch, he's coming off offseason should surgery and should be ready to go in another month or two. Last season in Vegas, Tuch recorded 18 goals and 15 assists in 55 games. His next will be as a member of the Sabre organization as a lifelong dream will soon come true.
