Calgary Flames Coach Comments on Jack Eichel Trade Rumors

The Calgary Flames are reportedly a finalist for landing Jack Eichel via trade, however head coach Darryl Sutter mentioned on Wednesday, that's news to him.

The rather reserved head coach was asked about acquiring Eichel and his response was hilarious. Turns out Sutter doesn't know much about the player:

Darryl Sutter asked for a scouting report on Eichel:

“I haven’t seen him play a long time and listened to reports that he’s not gonna play. I couldn’t even say he’s an active or inactive player.”

Of the two teams reported by Emily Kaplan of ESPN, the Vegas Golden Knights appear to be the heavy favorite. Word is the hold up continues to be the salaries as Eichel is headed for LTIR, however does need to be acquired first to do so.

Kaplan has mentioned the trade is at the 'one yard line' and the final conditions on the draft picks are being worked out. Just don't ask Sutter what's involved, unless you want a blank stare for an answer.
