Calgary Flames' Matthew Tkachuk Fined $5,000 For High-Sticking
Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk has been fined $5,000 by NHL Player Safety for his high-stick on Dallas Stars defenseman John Klingberg.
Calgary’s Matthew Tkachuk has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for High-sticking Dallas’ John Klingberg.

The high-stick occurred when Tkachuk was at the side of the net aiming to get better positioning in the offensive zone. Klingberg, on the other hand, was behind the red line inching closer to defending Tkachuk. From here, Tkachuk landed the high stick on the 29-year-old's face.

NHL Player Safety must have believed that the high-stick was done intentionally by Tkachuk for him to receive a fine.
This fine also comes on the same day where Matthew's brother Brady was named captain of the Ottawa Senators. Thus, one is making headlines for a good reason, while the other has been penalized by the league.
