Canucks GM Upset Over Chirps From Fans to be Fired
The Vancouver Canucks fan base is not happy and they aren't shy about sharing their feelings. The team continues to struggle and at their recent home game against the Colorado Avalanche, some 'Fire Benning' chants were started. These of course were pointed at general manager Jim Benning, and Benning has received the message and admitted the chants were very upsetting.

Benning recently spoke to the media and had this to say about what he heard at the latest home game:
It's upsetting. This is something I didn’t expect to happen after the moves we made this summer. This is wearing on all of us, but I believe in this group of players. The team is fragile right now.
The Canucks sit seventh in their division just ahead of the expansion Seattle Kraken. Vancouver is 5-10-2 on the season and can't seem to keep the puck out of their net, especially on the penalty kill as they are only killing just over 60% of their penalties. You cannot expect to win in the NHL these days without a solid penalty kill.
It's not all Benning's fault considering Elias Pettersson has only three goals in 17 games. Or how about Brock Boeser who has eight points on the season. The list goes on. It's certainly a collective effort and the finger should be pointed at Benning for some of the head-scratching decisions he's made over the years but no one can say these Canucks players are playing up to their potential.
We'll keep an eye out in Vancouver as some contending teams may come calling to see who is avaialable closer to the new year.
