Chicago Blackhawks Forward Placed On LTIR
The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that forward MacKenzie Entwistle has been placed on long-term injured reserve due to an ankle injury. He is expected to miss the next four to six weeks because of it.
This is a very tough break for Entwistle. The 22-year-old was given a full-time role with the team this season and has primarily been in their bottom-six thus far. In 12 games, he has two goals and an assist. However, he now will be missing a good amount of time from here.MEDICAL UPDATE: Forward Henrik Borgstrom will not play tonight (non-COVID related illness).

The Blackhawks signed Entwistle to a two-year, $1.6 million contract extension over the summer. It will begin during the 2022-23 season. With Chicago locking him up early, it is apparent that they have a lot of faith in the youngster. Therefore, he's a player to pay close attention to.
Once Entwistle returns, it will be intriguing to see what he's capable of.
