Colorado Avalanche Call Up Top Prospect

The Colorado Avalanche have recalled forward Alex Newhook from the Colorado Eagles.

The Avalanche selected Newhook with the 16th overall pick of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. With this, it is entirely understandable that there is a lot of hype following him amongst their fans. All eyes will be on him once he is back in an Avalanche sweater.

Newhook played in one regular season game with the Avalanche earlier this season against the Chicago Blackhawks. In it, he failed to record a point and was then sent down to the AHL. With the Eagles this season, he's been fantastic, as he has four goals and 11 points in 10 games.

Newhook played well with the Avalanche last season, too. In six games with the NHL team, he had three assists. He also had a goal and an assist in eight games.

The call-up does come with some sad news, though. Nathan MacKinnon is now out with a lower-body injury and is having tests done to determine the severity of it.
