Florida Panthers Sign Forward To Extension
The Florida Panthers have signed forward Ryan Lomberg to a two-year, $1.6 million contract. Thus, he will have an average annual value of $800,000 starting next season.
Since joining the Panthers last season, Lomberg has become a very solid bottom-six forward for them. He plays an immensely physical game and gives the Panthers some much-needed grit. In 44 games since joining the Panthers, he already has 86 penalty minutes.Ryan Lomberg

Yet, Lomberg has also been contributing well on the scoresheet well this season. In 10 games, he has a goal and two assists. Keep in mind, he only had four points in 34 games last season, so his rate of production has gone up noticeably. Perhaps we have yet to see the best of the 26-year-old.
Nonetheless, when looking at how low the cap hit is, it is very hard to actually complain about this contract. Florida will be keeping around their feisty winger and that's not a bad thing at all.
