Kevin Labanc Suspended One Game For Slew-Footing

NHL Player Safety has suspended San Jose Sharks forward Kevin Labanc one game for Slew-footing St. Louis Blues forward Tyler Bozak.

The play occurred when Labanc and Bozak went after a puck along the boards. Labanc evidently stuck his leg out and Bozak would end up falling down very awkwardly.

When looking at this suspension, it's impossible not to think about the leniency NHL Player Safety gave P.K. Subban for Slew-footing multiple players already this season. He escaped his two hearings for them with only fines. NHL Player Safety's inconsistency at this point is getting a little comical.

However, there is a prime difference worth noting between Labanc's hearing and Subban's multiple ones. Labanc's play was labeled as Slew-footing, while Subban's were each for "tripping." Therefore, NHL Player Safety must have felt Labanc's was more blatant than Subban's.

The hockey world will surely be talking about this, so feel free to get conversations going in the comments!
