Maple Leafs Auston Matthews Couldn't Care Less About Media Opinions

Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews was recently in a slump where he wasn't scoring while 5-on-5. That has since changed after potting goals in three straight games in California. Matthews was asked about the scrutiny during Sunday's game against the Anaheim Ducks and his response was legendary.

Matthews was a guest of TSN's Gord Miller during the intermission and let's just say he put Miller in his place. The TSN play-by-play announcer took it on the chin gracefully.

The Toronto media can be a nightmare for players and this season were certainly doing their best to write about Matthews every chance they got. He wasn't scoring at his normal pace early on this season but that was due to the fact he missed most of training camp rehabbing from wrist surgery.

Matthews has scored in his last three games and now sits with 10 goals and 19 points in 20 games. He's on pace for under 50 goals but by the looks of things that's going to change very soon as the Maple Leafs forward is on a heater.

Matthews claps back at the Toronto media, you just love to see it.
