On the play, Borowiecki received a five-minute major for Kneeing and a game misconduct. Antoine Roussel also fought Borowiecki after the hit, so in total, the 32-year-old defenseman racked up 20 penalty minutes.#Preds Mark Borowiecki will have a hearing today for kneeing #Yotes Dmitrij Jaskin. This is a play that will create spirited debates amongst hockey fans. It is important to note that Jaskin moves towards the middle while Borowiecki is already about to throw the hit.
That doesn't change the end result, however, as it is clear that it became a blatant knee-on-knee collision.
It will be fascinating to see what comes from here. A hearing does not automatically mean a suspension will occur, as P.K. Subban's third slewfoot of the year only led to a $15,000.
Do you think Borowiecki will be treated with leniency as well or is a suspension inevitable?
Update: Jaskin's season is over as a result of the hit, according to Craig Morgan. This will very likely impact things.
Further to this, sounds like Coyotes F Dmitrij Jaškin will miss the rest of the season. https://t.co/pzdcXacBSD
