Minnesota Wild Captain Out Week-To-Week
Minnesota Wild captain Jared Spurgeon will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
Spurgeon sustained his injury last Saturday in Minnesota's contest against the Florida Panthers. With that, he also missed their game the following night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. In response to his injury, the team called up prospect Calen Addison.Jared Spurgeon is week-to-week with a lower-body injury, #mnwild coach Dean Evason said.

Spurgeon's importance to the team is immensely high, so this is a tough blow for the Wild. The 31-year-old defenseman has been off to another solid start this season, as he has three goals and eight points. He also currently sports a plus-5 rating.
At this time, the Wild are currently at the top of the Central Division with an 11-6-1 record. However, the St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets are also just one point behind them. With that, the fourth place Nashville Predators are only behind by two. That also doesn't include the red hot Avalanche, as they are four points behind with three games in hand.
Thus, the Wild are in for a real challenge without Spurgeon on their blueline. Let's see how they fare without him.
