Montreal Canadiens Cole Caufield Sent Down to AHL
The Montreal Canadiens are playing some terrible hockey so far this season and one of the biggest disappointments has been the production of rookie Cole Caufield. The Calder trophy candidate has now been sent down to the American Hockey League.
So far in 10 games in 2021-22, Caufield has only registered one assist and has yet to score a goal. It seems fitting he gets sent down to the Laval Rocket and scores in his first AHL game so look for that to happen later this week.
The Canadiens have started the season 2-8 after making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final last season. The Canadiens have recalled Michael Pezzetta in the counter move to Caufield going down.

Updated race for 40 goals:
40 to go. #Gohabsgo #HockeyTwitter #calderwatch #NHL#sendhim2laval
Look for Caufield to go down and get some significant minutes with Laval and get his game back on track. He's too talented of a player to be riding the pine, playing fourth line minutes in the NHL and it's only a matter of time before we see him back with the big club in Montreal.
