With Scott Wedgewood being claimed off waivers by the Arizona Coyotes, the Devils had an available roster spot for the young forward.
Devil fans will surely be ecstatic to see Holtz up on the NHL squad. He is viewed as having a plethora of potential, which is why they selected him with the seventh overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
In four games with the Comets this season, he has scored five goals. Thus, it's safe to say he's been dominant and has earned himself a shot with the NHL squad.
The Devils play their next contest on Friday night against the Los Angeles Kings. It will be interesting to see if they elect to put him in their lineup, as he has taken the trip to California. With the Devils losing two straight, it certainly wouldn't be a bad thing to add someone new to their forward group.
