New York Rangers Sign Adam Fox To Extension
The New York Rangers have signed defenseman Adam Fox to a seven-year contract extension. It will begin during the 2022-23 season and have an AAV of $9.5 million.
Fox emerged as one of the league's bests last season, as he would go on to win the Norris Trophy. It was an entirely justifiable win for the 23-year-old, as he scored five goals and recorded 47 points in 55 games. With that, he stayed immensely sound defensively and had a +19 rating.I'm hearing it's for an AAV of $9.5 million #NYR https://t.co/6qWVZmkLJt

What's so scary about Fox is the fact that he is only in the beginning of his third NHL season. Thus, we may not have even seen the best from the franchise defenseman. He is already off to a magnificent start this season, too. In nine games, he has two goals and nine points.
Many envisioned that Fox would make over $10 million for his next contract, so this has all the makings of being a complete steal for the Blueshirts. Remember this - Charlie McAvoy and Seth Jones both are making $9.5 million per season with their next contracts, too. It's a real win for the Rangers.
