Ottawa Senators and Nashville Predators Strike A Deal
The Nashville Predators have acquired forward Kole Sherwood from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for future considerations.
Sherwood signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators during the offseason. The 24-year-old winger wouldn't end up making the team out of camp and didn't get into regular season action. In 13 games with the Belleville Senators, however, he had a goal and four points. The team has acquired forward Kole Sherwood from the Ottawa Senators for future considerations.#Preds | @mkeadmirals https://t.co/Anq2rnBwaV

Sherwood does have past NHL experience, though. He played in 11 NHL contests with his hometown Columbus Blue Jackets during the three previous seasons. In them, he had an assist, minus-2 rating and nine penalty minutes.
Sherwood will now be looking to earn himself a spot in Nashville's roster. At a minimum, he should be a solid call-up option for them when injuries or illnesses arise. Overall, not a bad depth move for the Predators.
