Ottawa Senators Games Postponed Over COVID-19 Outbreak
The Ottawa Senators are the first NHL team this season to have regular season games postponed as a COVID-19 outbreak has put a halt on their season.
The NHL will postpone games vs. New Jersey Tuesday along with Thursday vs. Nashville and Rangers here in Ottawa Saturday because of the COVID-19 outbreak with 10 players in protocol. The club has cancelled its flight to New Jersey. #Sens

The team has tried to ice a team lately but was running out of options as the virus was making its way through the entire organization. The Senators are 4-10-1 on the season and 2-7-1 in their past 10 games.
At this point the league will evaluate over the next few days to determine the best code of action and as Darren Dreger of TSN reports, the postponement could be longer than these three games.
There isn’t a set number games for @NHL to lose but if they start shutting down multiple teams for several days, the Olympics will be in jeopardy. @Senators matter is very concerning. @FAN590

As per Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun:
The Senators were scheduled to fly to Newark Monday afternoon to face the Devils but that has been put on hold after the club cancelled its fourth straight practice as a result of the update. Winger Drake Batherson was the latest player added to COVID-19 protocol just hours before the club’s 4-0 loss to the Calgary Flames Sunday. The belief is the Senators will remain off the ice until the weekend. The expectation is Ottawa will return to action next Monday night against the Colorado Avalanche on the road but that can change
