Report: Teams Calling Vancouver Canucks About Bo Horvat

According to Rick Dhaliwal, the Vancouver Canucks have been receiving a lot of calls from other teams regarding the availability of captain Bo Horvat.

After Sunday night's loss to the Boston Bruins, the Canucks now have a 6-14-2 record. It is clear that the current roster is just not getting it done and the postseason seems far too out of reach this year. With the Canucks continuing to struggle, Horvat is a player who the team who could look to move if they decide to commit to a full-on rebuild. Here's why.

If the Canucks opt to start selling, Horvat's future with the team is not set in stone. The 26-year-old forward is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the completion of the 2022-23 season. If the Canucks continue to struggle this significantly, he very well could look to move to a different franchise for a better chance of winning.

Horvat's current trade value is also high, as he is an underpaid captain who has more than one year left on his current contract. He is off to a bit of a slow start this season, though, as he has six goals and 11 points in 22 games.

It will be interesting to see if the Canucks begin to entertain these phone calls more seriously from here. Horvat is now the second big-name player from Vancouver who teams are interested in. Keep in mind, it's already been reported that the Minnesota Wild are heavily interested in forward J.T. Miller.
