Rumor: Evander Kane to the Vancouver Canucks

Evander Kane knows his days are numbered with the San Jose Sharks so his agent has been busy working the phones, trying to get a trade completed. One team Kane's reps have been in contact with, the Vancouver Canucks.

Considering everything that's gone on with Kane in California, the Sharks are agreeing to pay 50% of his salary moving forward in any deal. Meaning any team in the league can have Kane for $3.5 million on the cap.

The Canucks have some issues of their own so not really sure Kane is the answer in Van-City. It certainly would get some attention as the first move to right the ship, that's for sure. Vancouver currently has just over $2.4 million in cap space so they could fit Kane in if they send back some money the other way. Perhaps a Tyler Motte swap for the Sharks could work.

For now, Kane heads to the AHL where he'll get some games under his belt. He's eligible to play in the NHL once again after the Sharks conclude their next game. Kane of course was suspended 21 games for using a fake vaccination card at training camp. Now his agent is the hardest worker in the league as he's working the phones like a call center trying to convince general managers to take a chance on a player with a ton of baggage.
