Ryan Getzlaf Records 1,000th Career Point
In Tuesday night's game against the Washington Capitals, Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf recorded his 1,000th career NHL point. To achieve it, he sent out a long pass to defenseman Cam Fowler and he sniped it past Vitek Vanacek for the goal.
Getzlaf is having a career resurgence this season, as he looks like the player he was during his prime years. In 17 games played, he has a goal and 18 points. Keep in mind, in 48 games last season with the Ducks, he had 17 points. Therefore, he's already passed last year's total in such a short amount of time and deserves a lot of praise.
With this, Getzlaf is the first player to reach 1,000 points all while wearing a Ducks sweater. To reach this historic feat, it took the veteran 1,118 games. In total thus far, he has 280 goals and 720 assists.
Congrats on this huge achievement, Ryan!
