San Jose Sharks GM Taking Temporary Medical Leave

The San Jose Sharks released a statement on Friday afternoon as general manager Doug Wilson will be taking a temporary medical leave of absence from the hockey club.

Assistant general manager Joe Will will take over on an interim basis while Wilson gets the treatment that he needs.

The San Jose Sharks announced today that General Manager Doug Wilson will be taking a temporary medical leave from his day-to-day activities. In the interim, Sharks Assistant General Manager Joe Will will be handling the team’s day-to-day operations

Wilson has been a pillar to the Sharks franchise and has been the general manager for an impressive 18 seasons. At 64-years-old, anytime you hear about medical leave you certainly worry. We wish Wilson nothing but the best.

The Sharks are 10-8-1 on the season and host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday night.
