The St Louis Blues have announced they have waived veteran forward Kyle Clifford. The team put Clifford on waivers on Monday as they need to clear some cap space for returning players.

The Blues need to clear about $900,000 in actual cap to remove Sundqvist from LTIR and work under the regular cap.
Clifford's AAV is $1 million, so this move would get the Blues cap compliant. #stlblues
The 30-year-old rugged winger is clearly nothing more than a fourth liner who brings it every night with his effort and hard play. Clifford is in the final season of his contract, paying him $1 million. So far in two games, the Ayr, Ontario native has recorded one assist. Clifford isn't paid to put anything up on the score sheet, he's paid to play hard, be aggressive on the forecheck and finish his checks.
There's going to be interest league wide in Clifford as it's expected he does get claimed. The New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and Colorado Avalanche are three teams to watch on Tuesday regarding a claim.
If no claim is made, Clifford will head to the American Hockey League and the Blues will insert Oskar Sundqvist into their lineup.
