Taylor Hall Benched By Head Coach Bruce Cassidy

Taylor Hall has been playing decent hockey this season, tallying 3 goals and 4 assists in 10 games. However, it appears that Boston Bruins Head Coach Bruce Cassidy is less than impressed with Hall's performance thus far. Cassidy had Hall ride the pine late in last night's game against the Ottawa Senators.

After Hall's offensive zone hooking penalty against Erik Brannstrom at the 11:42 mark of the 3rd period, he had just one 28 second shift after exiting the penalty box. He was benched the final 11 minutes and did not step on the ice during the overtime period. Jake DeBrusk was promoted to the second line while Hall watched from the sideline. This comes just days after Hall wore an A against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Turnovers at the blue line when you have the lead in the third. We're all trying to buy into, "Play behind their D unless you have a free pass to get through there." It's just winning hockey. You want to play late in games, you've got to play winning hockey. It doesn't matter who you are on the team. He got away from that. - Bruce Cassidy

Hall logged a season low 11:26 of ice time. It is rumored that Hall loved playing for the Boston Bruins last season, which is why he chose to sign a 4 year, $24 million contract with the team. Any trade rumors stemming from this incident are simply false. This is simply a coach keeping players accountable for their actions on the ice, regardless of their status in the locker room.
