Toronto Maple Leafs Goaltender Injured Again

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Petr Mrazek has reaggravated his previous groin injury. The team will know more about the specifics of his injury on Sunday. As a result of this, they have called up goaltender Joseph Woll from the Marlies for Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins.

After his first start as a member of the Maple Leafs, Mrazek injured his groin. This would keep him out of action for the Leafs' next six contests. After healing from it originally, he's only had one more start with the team.

In his two games with the Maple Leafs, Mrazek has a 1-1-0 record and .877 SV. Obviously the sample size is way too small right now to criticize his campaign, but it certainly stings that the 29-year-old could end up missing more time. He just hasn't been able to stay healthy long enough to get any rhythm going.

Thankfully, though, Jack Campbell has done magnificently thus far. In nine starts, he has a 5-2-1 record, 1.86 GAA and .932 SV%. Even though the Maple Leafs signed Mrazek to form a nice 1A-1B tandem with Campbell, it's clear the latter has no trouble handling things on his own.

Let's hope that Mrazek's injury isn't too serious and that he won't miss significant time.
