Two Teams Making Final Trade Offers for Jack Eichel
According to Emily Kaplan of ESPN, the Buffalo Sabres are in advanced trade talks regarding their captain Jack Eichel and it's down to the Calgary Flames and Vegas Golden Knights.
Here’s the latest on Jack Eichel.

Multiple sources tell ESPN it’s down to Calgary and Vegas. Sabres GM Kevyn Adams is working hard to get it done, but neither team has met his asks yet.
Sources say both teams are OK with Eichel getting his preferred surgery. pic.twitter.com/uiJsGFeDmE
As mentioned, both teams are ok with Eichel having the back surgery he so desperately wants and it's not likely we see Eichel in any uniform until 2023. One team is going to pay a massive cost for a player heading for surgery and one who will not have played hockey in almost two years. Certainly a huge risk involved with this deal and that's why there's going to be conditions on the draft picks that are tied to the amount of games Eichel plays.
As for what is expected to be going to the other way in either trade, the Flames will likely have to include one of Dillon Dube or Andrew Mangiapane and potentially Nikita Zadorov to make the money work as Eichel is under contract for $10 million annually. Sean Monahan is someone the team would be fine letting go, however he does hold a modified no-trade clause that protects him from 10 teams and apparently Buffalo had made his list. Any deal would also need to include two draft picks, one being a first rounder.
For the Golden Knights, look for either Nicolas Hague or Brayden McNabb to be included, along with a top prospect like young forward Peyton Krebs. Two other names to look out for are Reilly Smith and Alex Tuch, who both make over $4.7 million.
It's happening folks, Eichel is getting traded....finally. Flames or Golden Knights, let us know in the comments where you think he ends up.
