Vancouver Canucks Place Forward On Waivers

The Vancouver Canucks have placed forward Justin Bailey on waivers.

Bailey suited up in 10 games with the Canucks this season and was held off the scoresheet in each of them. Over the last two seasons, he only played in five total games with Vancouver, so this was his longest stretch with the NHL squad. However, he now will be heading back to Abbotsford if no one decides to claim him.

Bailey has shown the potential to be a solid goal-scorer at the AHL level. For example, during the 2019-20 season with the Utica Comets, he had 28 goals and 47 points in 53 games. He also scored three goals and had six points in five games with Abbotsford this season.

Yet, it just hasn't been able to translate to the NHL level for the 26-year-old winger. In 78 career games between the Buffalo Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers and Canucks, Bailey has five goals and four assists.

It will be interesting to see if a team decides to take a shot on the 6'4" winger. Who knows? Maybe the Sabres will bring the hometown kid back.
