Vegas Trades Alex Tuch to Buffalo in a Package for Jack Eichel
The Vegas Golden Knights have finally pulled it off, they have landed Jack Eichel from the Buffalo Sabres. The deal sees forwards Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs head to the Sabres in a package for their injured captain.
The deal also includes a first-round pick in 2022 and a third-rounder in 2023 heading to Vegas, meanwhile the Sabres threw in a 2023 third-rounder as well.
Pending trade call, The @BuffaloSabres trade Jack Eichel and a 2023 3rd round pick, to the @GoldenKnights for Peyton Krebs, Alex Tuch, a 1st in 2022 and a 3rd in 2023.

These two teams have been in discussions for multiple months and Eichel wanted things over with this past week. He threatened the Sabres with a grievance via the NHLPA and there was mounting external pressures that were starting to get to Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams.
While all the latest reports were pointing at Matthew Tkachuk and the Calgary Flames being involved heavily to the finish line, apparently the Golden Knights were the only ones to get over the one yard line.
This was one of the most complicated trades because not only are the teams trading injured players, they needed to work the money out. The Golden Knights needed to be able to add Eichel's $10 million annual salary before they could move him to LTIR, meanwhile the Sabres had to stay above the salary cap floor.
Now Eichel heads for his back surgery and is likely out 4-6 months. Finally, it's over. ...
