Video: Alex Ovechkin Records 28th Career Hat Trick
In Friday night's game against the Florida Panthers, Alex Ovechkin scored his 28th career hat trick. He scored his first two goals 56 seconds apart from each other before getting his third during the following period.
Ovechkin's pure dominance this season has yet to stop. In 21 games, he now has 18 goals and 36 total points. With that, he currently has 748 goals and is only 22 away from tying Jaromir Jagr for third on the NHL's all-time scoring list. Hitting this achievement shouldn't take Ovechkin much longer.
If Ovechkin wasn't in the lineup last night, the Capitals wouldn't have beaten the Panthers by a 4-3 final score. Even at 36 years old, he is still one of the best players in the entire world. Hockey fans should treasure him, as who knows when we will see another natural goal-scorer of his ability again.
