Video: Claude Giroux Scores Beautiful Goal
In Thursday night's contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux scored one of the nicest goals of this young season. He blew by defenseman Cal Foote before completely fooling Andrei Vasilevskiy and beating him on the short breakaway.
Giroux was a huge factor throughout this game, as he forced overtime after tying it up with nine seconds left. Although the Flyers ended up falling in the shootout, they still ended up with a much-needed point.
Giroux's off to an excellent start this season, as he now has seven goals and seven assists in 15 games. This is certainly good timing for him to be producing like this, as he is due for a new contract next summer. If he keeps scoring nice goals like that, the Flyers should aim to re-sign him as soon as possible.
