Video: Flyers' MacEwen And Devils' Geertsen Fight
In Sunday's game between the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils, Zack MacEwen and Mason Geertsen got into a very heated tilt. It was a lengthy one that had shades of old time hockey with it.
Interesting fact - both of these players were claimed off waivers by their current teams this season. The Vancouver Canucks couldn't fit MacEwen on their roster, while Geersten was dealt the same fate with the New York Rangers.
Since joining their teams, each have been noticeable when it comes to the physical side of the game. In 18 games with the Flyers thus far, MacEwen has a goal and 20 penalty minutes in 18 games. As for Geertsen, he has a whopping 24 penalty minutes in just six contests with the Devils.
To conclude, it was very nice to see the two players show respect to one another after the huge fight.
