Video: Jack Eichel Thanks Buffalo Sabres And Fans

After months of waiting, Jack Eichel finally has a new home with the Vegas Golden Knights. Although things ended in a very rocky fashion with the Buffalo Sabres, Eichel shared a video on his Twitter account thanking the franchise and fans for his six years with the team.

There's no denying that things didn't go the way Eichel wanted them to in Buffalo. They simply weren't able to move past their rebuilding stage and never even made a single postseason appearance. This past season also was the final straw for the former captain, as they not only took a major step back, but the organization wouldn't let him get the surgery he wanted.

However, even with the team constantly failing, that's not to say that Eichel didn't perform well there. In 375 games as a Sabre, he had 139 goals, 216 assists and 355 points. With that, he was a three-time All-Star and named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2016.

Once Eichel gets the neck surgery that the Sabres wouldn't allow, he will be in an excellent place to succeed with the Golden Knights. They have one spectacular roster and he will have forwards like Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone to work with. Thus, once he recovers, we could see his production take an even bigger step from here.

However, this video was a very classy move by Eichel. After how badly the relationship between him and the team had gotten, it's so nice to see him pay respect, but especially to the fans.

Next time we see Eichel on the ice, he will be a member of the Vegas Golden Knights. Finally, this chapter is now complete.
