Video: Nick Ritchie Rips Rasmus Ristolainen's Helmet Off
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Ritchie is known for playing a very physical game. Sometimes, it can make him do questionable things. A clear example of this occurred Wednesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers when he ripped off defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen's helmet in the middle of play. Ritchie then would toss the helmet back to him.
Following the humorous play, Ritchie received a two-minute minor penalty for roughing. It wouldn't come back to haunt the Maple Leafs, though, as the Flyers did not score on it.
Ritchie was pretty noticeable the entire night as well. He recorded a primary assist on William Nylander's second goal. That was his second assist and point of the season, so it certainly was needed.
Although Ritchie is off to a slow start with the Leafs, one has to assume he will turn it on soon. In 56 games last season with the Boston Bruins, he scored 15 goals and had 26 points in 56 games. Therefore, it feels like only a matter of time before he gets on the scoresheet more often. However, he probably should stop ripping people's helmets off.
