Video: Oilers' Kailer Yamamoto Scores First Goal Of Season
In the first seven games of the season, Edmonton Oilers forward Kailer Yamamoto failed to record a single point. He was creating plenty of chances for himself, but nothing was going in for the young winger. However, that finally changed Monday night when the Oilers played the Seattle Kraken. After receiving a nice feed from Leon Draisaitl, Yamamoto flew by the defense and beat goaltender Joey Daccord five-hole.
This is exactly what the doctor ordered for Kailer, as he now is officially on the scoresheet. It also was nice to see that the goal was a pretty one. Don't be surprised to see Yamamoto produce far more frequently from here.
Yamamoto showed that he has the potential to be a dominant offensive player during the 2019-20 season. In 27 games, he scored 11 goals and recorded 26 points. However, he had a setback last year, as he scored eight goals and had 21 points in 52 games.
Let's see if this is the beginning of a much-needed hot streak for him.
