Video: Penguins' Kasperi Kapanen Records Hat Trick
In his first nine games this season, Kasperi Kapanen did not score a single goal. Yet, in game number ten Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild, the 25-year-old broke the ice and recorded his first career hat trick.
Now, that slow start doesn't look too bad. He now has three goals and seven points on the season. This is what the Penguins will be expecting from him offensively moving forward.
After being traded from the Toronto Maple Leafs back to the Pittsburgh Penguins, he had his true breakout campaign during the 2020-21 season. In 40 games last season, he scored 11 goals and had 30 points. Thus, he is capable of being a true top-six forward and games like this display that even more.
Nonetheless, congrats to Kasperi on his first career hat trick! Perhaps this will be the beginning of a much-needed hot streak for him.
