Video: Trevor Moore Scores Against His Former Team
Los Angeles Kings forward Trevor Moore returned to Scotiabank Arena Monday night to play against his former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. He certainly had an extra pep in his step, as he scored on a nice individual effort.
The Leafs traded Moore with two draft picks in February of 2020 for goaltender Jack Campbell and Kyle Clifford. Campbell has since blossomed into the Leafs' number one goaltender, so it's a move they absolutely do not regret.
Yet, Moore's had some success since joining the Kings, too. During the 2020-21 season, he scored 10 goals and had 23 points in 56 games. This season hasn't been too kind to the 26-year-old forward, though, as he went pointless in his first 11 games. However, he now is on the board after this goal.
Perhaps scoring against his former team will end up being the spark that Moore needs. He showed last season that he has the tools to be a solid contributor in a third-line role, so we will have to see what happens next with him.
