Video: Paul Cotter Scores First Career Goal
Vegas Golden Knights rookie Paul Cotter is certainly leaving a good first impression with the team. In just his second game Thursday night, he scored his first career NHL goal. It was a very pretty goal, too, as he showed a lot of confidence stickhandling the puck before going top shelf on Minnesota Wild goaltender Cam Talbot.
Due to all the injuries the Golden Knights have on offense, Cotter is getting a chance to play at the NHL level. He started the 2021-22 campaign with the Henderson Silver Knights, where he had two goals in eight contests. Now with Vegas, he has a goal in two games. That's not bad at all for the 21-year-old.
Although there's a good chance that Cotter will end up back in the AHL once Vegas gets more of their forwards back, this is a grand opportunity for him to show them what he's capable of. If he keeps scoring nice goals like that, they may have to consider keeping him around.
Nonetheless, congrats on your first NHL goal, Paul!
