WATCH: Kevin Fiala Scores Filthy Lacrosse-Type Goal
The Minnesota Wild defeated the Arizona Coyotes 5-2 in last night's matchup. The main highlight of the night was Kevin Fiala's magnificent goal that will surely make Sportcentre's Top 10. Check it out.
Fiala may get some calls from some NLL teams offering a professional tryout. This lacrosse-type goal wasn't the standard drag-and-lift from behind the net. Jared Spurgeon shot the puck toward the net, but it was blocked and deflected up by a Coyotes defenseman. As the puck was airborne, Fiala used the backhand of his blade to corral the puck and launched it in the tight space between the shoulder of goaltender Karel Vejmelka's the post.
The Wild are now on a 4 game winning streak and currently sit in the first seed of the Central Division. They have an opportunity to extend the streak this evening against the Vegas Golden Knights. Perhaps we may see more highlight reel plays in this matchup.
